There’s a sea god look out! the ocean
is waving
A gazillion green banners all those
brief assertions
Riffling the surface blinking like
ones and zeroes
Innumerable innuendos breathing in
breathing out
Not to be gathered again into this
particular vista
The unlimited text messages of a
personal nature
Such a god might send on an omnipotent
iPhone
But the ocean’s not a smart-phone it’s
dumb
Cold and choppy and mostly
predictable tidewise
O my dear may the water wash it all
away
The alarms of adolescence take so
long to stop
Trembling to quit frothing greenly to
plunge now
Toward whose flesh fumbling stiffly
against numb
Homeric waves collapsing epically
for nothing
