Dining with Antonin Artaud

O profound impulsiveness of flesh
Instinctual cringe of castration
The shattering pain of flayed books
The bleeding library pleading for the final
Wound O insensible crevices in the brain
Of the cuttlefish the filet-knife poised
To reveal the law of naked organs
The hidden names for everything tonight
Calling softly from the noxious kitchen
The papered walls irrigated by desires
That no image satisfies these exquisite
Ruptures of the mind skinned on a table
These ancient temples turning waxy
And soft on the surface of the skull
